UTICA — Jason Cooper, a lifelong Utica resident and father of two daughters in the Utica City School District, has announced his candidacy for the May 16 election for the district's Board of Education. 'I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Utica School Board,' Cooper said. 'I believe that collaboration, creative problem solving and a willingness to consider all ideas are essential for creating a strong, vibrant school system that benefits everyone. I am committed to working with the community to find innovative solutions to the challenges facing our schools and to promoting a culture of inclusivity and equity for all students.
