UTICA — A Utica parolee has been charged with weapons possession following a parole check Tuesday night, according to the Utica Police Department. Police said they were working on parole checks with New York State Parole around 9 p.m. Tuesday when they went to check on 27-year-old Julian Spencer in the 900 block of Lenox Avenue. Police said they spotted Spencer outside of a residence, at which point he turned and tossed an object into an open doorway. The object was found to be a handgun, police stated.
